Sembo 11894: King of Glory Guan Yu Ice Mech with Mech Horse Preview

Cool!
No pun intended.

Not too confident about the build quality though since other KoG mechs from Sembo reportedly don't have good build quality.. Or maybe you'd like the challenge of improving these mech designs' stability?

Thanks to Muhammad and Oederland for the heads up!

  1. With regard to quality of the "mech"-style products, is it a fact that it's the Sembo products that have poor quality or is it the Lepin clones (or does it hold for both ;D )?

Just thought it might be worth to mention, as Lepin has copied some of the Sembo KoG sets. In case of original Lego vs. clone brand it's still easy to differentiate, as most Lego bricks have a small Lego molding somewhere, but no idea how one would like to differentiate between e.g. Sembo and Lepin bricks.

  2. Sembo figures are produced by sy (symbol bottom right of the box). Quality of sy is far far better than Lepin.

    1. Yes, but some of the sellers leave away the original boxes when shipping abroad. So it might be the case that one receives a Lepin set instead of the ordered Sembo set, either because the seller wants to trick you and sends the cheaper version, or accidentally. In that instance you might moan about poor quality of brand x although you actually have received the same set made by brand y, but you might not be aware of this. These particular Sembo sets come without minifigs, which would probably really make it easy to distinguish between Sembo / SY and Lepin.

Just wanted to stress this aspect. Sembo also had a message on their site about the Lepin clone sets, which seem to be of lower quality.

Of course, this still leaves open the question 1) whether these particular Lepin sets are really poorer than the original Sembo sets or whether Sembo just claims their own products to be superior to justify higher prices and 2) whether the design of the Sembo sets is flawed, e.g. resulting in instable mechs.

    2. I've purchased both Sembo and Lepin and Sembo's quality is better. Sembo's bricks are softer and minifigs are better as well. My issue with Sembo is their builds need help.

    3. I also think Sembo (Or SY to be exact) is better, but the build quality of the Sembo sets, I've heard, aren't too good. As in, they're poorly designed like the arms or legs easily fall off, etc etc.
