POGO PG277-PG281: Parallax, Booster Gold, and Other DC Minifigs Review

From this bigger POGO set!

Much better than other POGO figs recently, tbh.

From left to right:
PG277 - Captain Cold
PG278 - Parallax
PG279 - Superboy
PG280 - Possibly Nyssa Al'Ghul but I'll be referring to him/her as Arrow Guy lol but sellers are listing him as Merlyn apparently!
PG281 - Booster Gold

Let's start with Captain Cold (Legends of Tomorrow TV show variant) and Parallax. First of all, I think Parallax' design is wrong. Actually, we only call him Parallax because of his shoulder pads, but honestly he looks just like any Green Lantern. Although, that's all based on my knowledge and I'm more of a Marvel fanboy, so correct me below or in Facebook! Captain Cold on the other hand is as cool as possible, pun intended. I just wish he had an optional hood to complement his look.

I love Captain Cold's "freeze gun" because it's not actually a freeze gun but looks more like the Colonial Marines' pulse rifle in the Alien series. Knowing that POGO is also releasing a Xenomorph soon (as seen here), this gun mold makes me hopeful that we'll also see some Colonial Marines minifigs soon!
Oh and Parallax' "ring" is just one stud with the lantern print that's barely visible. Meh.

Back view. Capt. Cold does have the hood print at the back, at least. He also has an alternate face with no shades which is a welcome addition. Also, some of you might want to replace the head with his Prison Break character (by the same actor) minifig's, just for fun! LOL! Parallax has a fairly simple back print that captures the front pretty well.

Side prints. Nothing for Cold, but some design elements on Parallax.

Closer look at the shoulder piece. Hope that more characters come out while using this same mold in different colors/designs!

Generally good figs! No complaints really, yay POGO!


Now for Arrow guy from CWVerse/Arrowverse and Booster Gold. Okay I'm not really sure who this arrow guy is though, not sure if we ever got the name right in the preview..
Anyway, quality wise they're alright. Arrow guy is much better in terms of quality over Booster Gold, as you'll see in a while. No complaints here though in general.

Arrow guy comes with a cheap-feeling bow and arrow, but nothing too bad for me to complain, and Booster Gold comes with that thing that people like. Not sure what it is but people found it interesting.

Side prints. Or well, lack of side prints.

Back prints. Great job on the Arrow guy, for Booster Gold, it also complements the front pretty well. We can also see that POGO tried to imitate the dual molding process by painting on the bottom half of the legs, and honestly I'm fine with it; it's much much better than front and back prints only.

Fake dual molding, but it's alright for me.

Now I don't know if the picture can show it enough, but Booster Gold's printing seemed a bit faded. Not too bad as other, lesser known brands, but not as sharp and vibrant as the other figs from even the same set. This is bad because XINH is also coming out with a Booster Gold that has an accessory unique to it (or at least it seems like it). XINH's will come out with his mini robot assistant thing which honestly looks interesting and POGO's lucky they released this first or else XINH might've gained the upper hand immediately [especially since XINH has superior quality generally].

Now for Superboy. Fairly simple minifig. Only complaint is that the arm printing, or painting to be more exact, isn't as smooth or consistent as I would've hoped. You see some black fading into the flesh there and after years of releasing figs, it's a shame they still couldn't get these right. :(

At least the sides look great!

Simple back print, but sadly no alternate face.

See how faded that looks! :( Could be worse though, especially those printed patches on the arms lol.

TL;DR - Good [partial] set from POGO. Seems like they're improving again! Although it's been somewhat of a pattern where POGO releases bad figs then better ones then bad again then better and so on.. Hopefully this pattern is gone and that it only keeps getting better from here!

I just wonder if AngeloMarcus Greenhills will also release Elektra, White Canary, and Firestorm from the same set because the same Elektra, White Canary, and Firestorm was also released by XINH already. At least AngeloMarcus already did release the XINH ones before though hehe!
