POGO PG354, PG356, PG357, PG359, PG361: Gold Armored Batman and Other Lantern Batmen Minifigs Review

First previewed here!

PG354 - White Lantern Batman
PG356 - Orange Lantern Batman
PG357 - Gold Armored Batman
PG359 - Indigo Tribe Batman
PG361 - Blue Lantern Batman

Well, the colors basically match their names!

First off is Gold Batman. He's kinda identical to WM's previously released Gold Batman (mine had wrong arms), but this one came with a shoulder armor piece and a shiny golden cape; good job POGO for differentiating quite well! Print quality of this is good, and the plastic quality is better than your average POGO fig, surprisingly.

Comes with these two accessories. Yeah, WM's doesn't have that sword too!

Unfortunately, just like most other recent POGO figs, the heads are a bit loose or easily removable. This might be a convenience to some, but compatibility with other brands becomes an issue and removing helmets becomes more complicated too..

Underneath. We've been seeing more figs like this with no eyes. I guess it's better this way if you intend to keep the helmet on because due to bootleggers' inconsistensy with print alignments, haveing a bigger white eye area becomes a better choice because the helmet eye holes will align with the face print better.

Back view. Has an alternate face but still no eyes.

Again, check out the WM golden Batman here! Which do you prefer?

Blue Lantern on the left and White Lantern on the right.
These two are so much better than the others in terms of printing. For plastic quality, it's kinda the same: some loose pieces, less gloss, other qualities you'd expect from recent POGO releases. Still not horrible thoughm at least.

Some side prints.

Under the cape. Yay for back leg printings.

They also have decent face prints! Which is why there shouldn't be an excuse for bootleggers to not ahve these decent face prints..

No alternate faces though.

Orange Lantern on the left and Indigo Tribe on the right. Same comments on these guys with the two other Lanterns. Generally though I think these 4 are better than the two ones I received [and reviewed] earlier; mainly because of Green Lantern Batman's faded chest logo.

Again, we have back leg printings. Yeah, to some it doesn't matter, but it makes me really happy knowing my figs have back leg printing.

Side arm prints too.

Faces.

Orange Lantern Batman has some drool on his face, and I love it. Orange Lanterns get their power from greed and the drooling face kinda makes it look so.

But if you don't like the drooling mouth, then the alternate face is an option at least. Thanks, POGO for this. Indigo Tribe doesn't have one though.

Oh and their rings are made well enough. Printing was clear and all. I just hoped that they came with those ring holder pieces like this one from XINH's Alan Scott.

TL;DR - They're good enough. If you're a DC or Batman collector, I think these guys are worth getting still.

People are wondering why bootleggers just didn't make real Lanterns and not Batman Lanterns. Well I think, and this is just an opinion and a speculation from my part of course, bootleggers always use Batman to ensure sales. We collectors aren't the only buyers, we might not even be their main target market. Kids will probably be the main target market of cheap plastic toys like these guys, and kids don't know the Lanterns [probably] but probably 99% of the time, they know Batman which means more sales.
For now, I'm just glad though that they still incorporated the Lanterns into Batman. Maybe if sales did well, they'll make real  Lanterns, but I can never 100% anticipate their moves because bootleggers have always been so random..
Again, I have no real sources regarding this information; I'm just trying to justify to myself why bootleggers always "repeat" designs (in this case using Batman all over again) instead of making new ones because even I want real Lanterns hahaha.

  1. I think that batman lantern is already good enough, but Unfortunately they didn't make the yellow one to make it perfect

    1. Yeah I really think Yellow is a must-have, but maybe they didn't because they made this gold one too? Oh well, maybe next time they'll make a real Yellow Lantern version

  2. When I get loose minifig parts, I will use a tiny bit of scotch tape around the peg to create more circumference to latch to, or in this case you could tuck the cape under the hole.

    1. Oh yeah! I've tried that before and I think it works well! :D I still would've preferred though if POGO got it right :/ I mean they could before so I don't know what's stopping them now from making decent figs :/
