First previewed here.
With SY's/DLP's iconic helmet on the left and POGO's on the right.
This design is really from Donut Minifigs though and I think they did an amazing job. Did Lele give it justice? Sure, but the original looks much better, and I'm not surprised. Donut Minifigs also has a white version if I'm not mistaken,

Moving on, the prints were bright and well-applied, but the design elements seem too thick. Though while the design doesn't look as sleek as how Black Panther really is, the whites and basically the colors on a dark mold look absolutely great! Some brands have a hard time printing light colors on dark molds but Lele did a good job here. Though while the fig itself has good prints, the yellow lines on the helmet aren't as good. It seems that the type of print/paint OR plastic [of the helmet] are different from usual figs. Still, the application was great since it was well-aligned and has no big, noticeable issues.
I'm not sure if it's really designed this way, but the gold print on the white/grey near the wrists look weird.
A view of the back. The shape of the helmet tries to really copy Black Panther's helmet in Civil War which I find really interesting!
We don't get a T'Challa face though. Not even a Batman type face with a white headband for the eye holes. It doesn't bother me enough though since I'll be keeping the helmet on anyway. Also, to show more of what I was saying about the torso print, look at how bright the white is on the torso as compared to the one on the head.
I'm hoping Ant-Man and Wasp get the same treat as Black Panther when it comes to unique helmet molds. I really want a new Ant-Man helmet mold!
I have no idea when the others from this guy's set will arrive, but once they do in AngeloMarcus Greenhills, I'll be sure to review them asap. This one is a great start though.
EDIT:
This design (along with the white version) come from DONUT Minifigs. The original's helmet shape seem different, or is it just me? Overall though, I'm 100% sure that these original versions are better in terms of design and quality than Lele's. Do check them out!

ReplyDeleteI would do that too but its not as easy as it seems if you're not in china. In the Philippines where the blog owner is the government is currupt so importing stuff will cost him and he wouldnt have competitive prices. Drop shipping could work but you need to know people and know Mandarin to speak to them. Plus he needs money to invest and as a student in the Philippines I really doubt he has any money unless its his families.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all your points! :D You really need to know someone in the government to keep your costs down especially if it's importing stuff.. and yeah, understanding Mandarin is necessary.. :/ Though I am looking into the AliExpress affiliate links thing, where I just provide a link and if people purchase using the link I provided, I'll earn a commission at no extra cost to the people reading my site.. Though what's stopping me is that I don't wanna link an AliExpress store that doesn't have good reputation/support/products :/
