KORUIT XP208-XP210: Classic Mysterio, Ghost Rider x Spider-Man, and Mysterion Minifigures Review

 First previewed here!

XP208 - Mysterio (Classic)
XP209 - Ghost Spider (Ghost Rider x Spider-Man)
XP210 - Mysterion

For a while now, people were waiting for a blue flame hair piece to complement their Ghost Spider from an old Sheng Yuan Spider-Man minifigure set. Now, KORUIT decided to just make their own whole minifigure, plus I think it looks better. I think he goes by a different name nowadays too because Spider-Gwen usese the name Ghost Spider sometimes.

Mysterion is a new character too! In the comics, there was an instance where some guy, I'm not sure who, was able to get the Mysterio costume and became a villain with using it and renaming himself to Mysterion. So technically, this guy isn't a variant. I've known this for a while now because I was planning on MOCing myself a Mysterion minifigure but now I don't think I will!

Excellent prints! Plastic is also pretty good but I can't help but think that the first few batches of KORUIT minifigures (namely those old Game of Thrones ones) were much better. Nonetheless, these are still pretty good!

I love how KORUIT designed the capes to have more attachments for future designs. Some might not like seeing studs at the back of the capes but it personally doesn't bother me as much.

These are the parts included with the Mysterio minifigures. Mysterion didn't come with an opaque dome helmet unlike classic Mysterio. The capes are also comprised of two pieces that I'm sure will come in handy for KORUIT's future designs. These are those round pieces where the helmets would ideally attach to but I think they didn't do much in terms of function but they do add to the overall look of the minifigures which I think is a good thing!

Mysterion comes with that weird face. I'm not complaining and I'm not sure if this is accurate to the comics. [Normal] Myserio doesn't come with a hair piece but the face is there.

These are the two fishbowl helmets included with classic Mysterio. I think he's designed to have the opaque helmet more since he doesn't have a hair piece visible. I wish they included a transparent base minifigure head to complement the transparent fishbowl but hey, there are lots of those in the market at least. I also think that the opaque helmet is a bit thinner in terms of the plastic mold compared to the transparent one but maybe that's just because of the colors..? It didn't matter as much though since the quality of both helmets were pretty decent.

What I didn't like with the transparent fishbowl helmets though are the presence of those hollow parts near the top. These probably have something to do with the mold injection in the factories but Lego and other companies were able to create dome, fishbowl helmets that didn't have hollow portions like that.

Overall, I think this is the best classic Mysterio out there. Ghost Spider is also a great addition ot any Spider-Verse collectors' collection. Mysterion is a new character that people might want, especially considering that most of the new releases these days are just variants.

In terms of quality, I think these guys are pretty good. The transparent dome, fishbowl could be better but if you don't like them, you can just replace them with other fishbowl molds in the future. Design wise, it's really arguable since some people are really sick of variants and I completely understand.
Personally, these are variants that I think are reasonable enough and aren't too boring unlike what other brands, ehem XINH ehem, have been doing making weird, unnecessary variants.

There are 5 more others from the same set but I'm not sure if AngeloMarcus Greenhills will get them in stock because they're just variants too. If they do, I'll try to make a separate review that features them! In addition to this, more KORUIT minifigures are coming so stay tuned for them to be available in your online stores or in AngeloMarcus Greenhills and consequently in this site for reviews!
