I messed up. I'm not sure if they're with their right accessories.
Though one of them didn't come with a weapons, just a shield. While some of them came with two daggers or two short swords.
They're absolutely amazing.
The details on the parts are great and don't look cheap. The design elements are well-defined, especially compared to other brands that have poor defined designs.
The shield is just as good as the helmet details-wise.
These are the weapons they came with. I got two of those two short weapons in the middle and two bows.
Not sure if that's luck or if they really sell it like that.
The details on the weapons are really good as well!
This was one problem though, the helmet is too big for the quiver to fit properly.
Verdict: these are must-haves for LOTR fans or even just medieval fans. The details on the molds are great and the prints are really decent too. These remind me of KORUIT's first minifigures, the Kingsguard, which is a good thing because I think those were their best Minifigs.
Don't forget that KORUIT also has LOTR Orcs/Uruk-Hai incoming as well as [already-released] Gondor soldiers. Will review [Uruk-Hai] and have already reviewed [Soldiers of Gondor] as soon as AngeloMarcus Greenhills gets them in stock! I think it's soon too since more and more stores are listing them.

Good thing KORUIT was smart enough to include an adjustable quiver!

I'm sorry, the armour looks kinda terrible. It looks like the first generation of Koruit's Kingsguard before they made the nicer shiny second gen version. I was really wanting this set until I saw the photos in your review. I think I'm just going to wait now.
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer the Pearl gold color over chrome gold. The chrome always chips off, while the Pearl is a solid plastic color.
DeleteI received this set yesterday from Ali seller. Plain armor looks good for me but as you mentioned I also assumed shiny lacquer version should be released like Kings guards.
DeleteAs Koruit Gondor infantry was produced with silver lacquer painting, it should be nicer if Elven infantry painted with lacquer. Anyway normally I order 200~300 unit for mini-figure army but I am gonna wait for a while if Koruit release golden lacquer version.
Ok we need to see your armies
DeleteOk, now I regret I bought them. I thought they will come with the shiny accessories. This looks cheap. At least the print looks shiny...
ReplyDeleteI agree the mould detail is impressive... But so what! Minifigures are all about the detail of the fine printing, and the paint job. It just like how everyone marvels when they see "painted" Dungeon and Dragons pewter figurines. The paint job elevates the mould detail. Considering the total awesomeness of the Shiny Kingsguard, and the Gondor soldiers, and the Gondor Fountain guards, this is like a big step backward for Koruit.
ReplyDeletemaybe if you use a chrome gold spray paint, on the weapons and helmet?
DeleteWe need to be patient for a little while longer. I think Koruit should have a plan for shiny painted armor because we know they understand what customer want. Many people have different tastes and non-painted armor should be an option for them. ^^
DeleteYep, I expect them till the Christmas. We all know they can make pretty shiny armour :-)
DeleteSo much hate. Buy some gold spray paint
ReplyDeleteThere would be no "hate" from my side if I get what I saw in the preview. To me it's false advertising (...something I'm used to in Pogo's preview when it comes to print quality).
DeleteTrue Dat
DeleteAfter your comment I went back to Aliexpress to take another look. You do have a good point. I ordered a bunch on 11-11 and am hoping they are more gold then this review. I'm not a big fan of the gold chrome but was hoping for more gold then the full brown they seem.
DeleteGot mine in and they are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYeah these are dumb
