These are the first 4 of a lot of Warcraft like sets from Enlighten. (Can't find clear pics of others)
Enlighten 2301 - The wolf looks great!
Enlighten 2302 - Groot? JK! Looks nice and the horse/horse armor looks great as well!
Enlighten 2303 - My favorite among them all! Seems to be a blacksmith place but that golem looks amazing!
Enlighten 2304 - Seems like a Dwarven catapult. Looks nice!
Thanks to Facebook follower, David, for the clear pictures!
Thoughts on this? For me, well I'm excited to see more Enlighten stuff even if I'm mainly a Marvel Superheroes collector. It's just sad I don't see a lot of Enlighten from local stores..

have you seen this? - http://www.enlighten-brick.com/new%20enlighten%20catalogue.pdf its the "current" enlighten catalogue... alot of sets from those toy fair photos floating around from a month or two back... lists rough dates for release e.t.c. some older stuff... but mostly new and upcoming... some fairly interesting "original"? sets which is kinda cool
ReplyDeleteYeah I have, but sadly the pictures in the pdf are low quality, preventing me from posting.. It's interesting though since lots of sets in that PDF aren't in their main site yet. I'll share them with people in case I find some nicer quality pics :D
DeleteGlad star wars stuff slowed down. I'm getting into knights so some of these could be cool. Still no dwarfs around for an army.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you know I'm really really curious why there are barely any Dwarf minfigs. It's also weird that XINH/POGO had Elves minifigs sets from The Hobbit while the Dwarves, who are the main guys in The Hobbit, don't even have their own XINH/POGO sets.. That's just... racist? Haha
DeleteThat's what I was thinking too. Elves and orcs but no dwarfs.
DeletePhotos for the other sets are available at https://item.jd.com/12358017542.html#none , although the quality is not too good.
ReplyDeleteThis should be an official Enlighten online store https://qimengwj.tmall.com/search.htm?spm=a1z10.3-b.w14071387-16307930442.3.NxhgbK&search=y&orderType=hotsell_desc&tsearch=y&scene=taobao_shop , but so far none of the "The War of Glory" sets are listed.
Oh nice thanks! I was able to source clearer pics of the War of Glory sets though, check the latest post for now! :D I'll add the remaining few in a few hours. I really need to go for now :(
DeleteWell, at least for the sets 2301-2313. There are four more sets 2314-2317, the large ones, which are not (yet?) listed at that site.
DeleteSo right now we might have to wait till Enlighten provides some more pictures on their shop.
Thanks mate! They might be upsampled images of those from my link though, they have a higher resolution when it comes to pixels, but do not necessarily provide more details.
DeleteI've update the blog, just check out the latest post/posts right above this to see the remaining The War of Glory sets!
DeleteAnyway. One the one hand, I'm happy that there are new sets with knights. On the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed as I had hoped for two human fractions with lots of different soldiers fitting into a half-realistic historic setting. I'm not really into elves and such... There seem to be nine variants when it comes to humans / dwarves:
ReplyDelete- the king from 2310/2317
- the knight with "Nexo Knights" armour and partly printed legs (including the tiptoes) as in 2306/2307/2309/2313/2315/2316/2317 , he is probably the hero and thus no need for a helmet ;)
- a 2nd knight with "Nexo Knights" armour and partly printed legs (but not on the tiptoes) as in 2302/2304/2308/2311/2315/2317 , he wears a helmet
- the knight with blue legs (partly printed) and printed "classic" armour as seen in 2301/2304/2305/2315/2317
- a generic soldier (no armour piece) as in 2303/2310/2316
- the "battle" dwarves with horned helmets as in 2308/2314
- the "pirate" dwarves as in 2302/2307/2311/2315/2316
- the "fleshie" dwarf with printed legs as in 2304/2317
- the wizzard as in 2312/2316
The two "Nexo Knights" armoured knights might have the same torso and the same printed armour, and some of the dwarves' torsos might be identical (difficult to judge with those battle dwarves and their long beards ;) ). In any case, there are at least two different dwarf torsos, a mainly brown one as seen on the pirate dwarfs, and another mainly brown one on the fleshie dwarf.
Having said that, I definitely have to get 2302, I like the tree ;) and the mounted knight. The two "pirates" or dwarfs are rather useless IMO, but maybe they have a nicely printed torso which can be used for generic soldiers. And in any case, it's great to have a MOUNTED KNIGHT in a small set already :D In the previous knights theme, one had to buy one of the large sets... 2303 seems to be a nice little building, although I fear they still use the old visor piece on that helmet, which looks good but doesn't work properly (not as stable as Lego visors when trying to open/close the helmet). I might get it as well although I have no need for this rock monster or whatever it is meant to represent. 2301 would be necessary to get the more classic knight the cheapest, but the building with its light green roof is a bit weird IMO ;) Finally, 2309 for the second variant of the "Nexo Knights" soldier, his spear piece seems to be a new mold, the large tree might work well together with the smaller one (which I prefer though). But let's see. On some photos from a toy fair I had the impression that the printings are "too fantasy" to work well with other knights... but as stated, this is my very personal perspective, as I'm looking for "classic" knights.
Well yeah, the great thing about brick figs is that, you can easily customize them! So even if you hate elves, maybe you can buy some POGO armor and helmets and make them generic knights instead! Hehe. It's all up to us! That's why I love these things hehe
