POGO PG8107: 6 (OF 8) TLBM Minifigs (Including Wonder Twins, Jor-El, Black Canary, and More) Review

First previewed here!

We also reviewed Alfred and Zod, both from the same set, here.

Yes, I have some original TLG CMFs to compare these POGO ones too. (Just Black Canary and the Wonder Twins) I borrowed them from my brother just so I can compare them and review!

Let's start with the two Batgirls. Well, quality wise they're like the usual POGO figs. Not good, but not crap. Some might even call them bad. Still nice to see that POGO was able to create the new mold for Batgirl's hood.

These are the faces under their head accessories. Another issue with these figs, and with POGO in general, is quality control. I honestly think though that there are no "rejects" in bootlego factories. For example, a minifig with some misprints or errors from TLG would most likely not make it out there and would instead be scrapped or simply removed from the manufacturing/release line. For POGO, there's no such thing and that's understandable especially given the low costs of both making and selling these figs. Alright, to be more specific about the quality control, look at purple Batgirl's left arm and see the error I was talking about.

Bad paint job on purple Batgirl's arms.. Ugh.

The back legs of purple Batgirl have the same issues, and no they are not dual molded and the messed up paint is more proof of that. Batfan Batgirl doesn't have back printing though.

Oh and the ponytail is removable.

They both come with these accessories. The prints on the Bat Money could've been darker though.

Now for Jor-El. He would've been an okay minifig but print errors make him... meh.

Sad. Yes, they are not aligned. I guess it has something to do with the manufacturing process since as far as we can tell, POGO prints on the minifig as a whole, not piece per piece, but I guess having minifigs with these types of legs means a diffrent manufacturing process hence the misalignment.
OR I just got a bad fig. Tell me about yours!

For some reason too, only one arm has shiny dots while the other didn't. Quality control issue or is it really like that?

Nothing on the back and it's understandable since he does come with an armor.

No alternate face. I also didn't put it all the way down anymore because the head-neck attachmet was so damn tight it was such a pain to remove especially when the armor was equipped..

Can you tell which one is the original Black Canary? Let's look closer to see their differences!

Both POGO and TLG came with the same accessories (except the plate where TLG has printed plates). TLG's, on the right, has much better printing on the mic.

POGO on the left, TLG on the right.
To be fair, POGO's Canary seems better than usual POGO figs, but it's still not as good as TLG or even XINH. POGO's fig has a weird shade of yellow for the hair.. There are also some print issues like how the flesh is not consistent with the hands/head (though TLG has this problem too sometimes) and some leg printing errors (on the left most).

POGO still tried to copy TLG as best as possible. Too bad quality control is not present.

POGO's also has scratches on the back.. Both have no back leg printing though.

Now for the first Wonder Twin. Again, it's left = POGO and right = TLG.

They both come with the buckets with water. The water piece which is a flat transparent blue stud has a face on it and POGO's is more visible because of the lack of those letters and numbers you usually find on TLG pieces. Though quality is still on TLG's side for both plastic and print. Another difference though is how POGO's flat stud can attach to the bucket while TLG's flat stud couldn't attach to their bucket..

One issue that really bothers me at first glance is how POGO created the legs for their fig. Look at how the yellow V shape is applied on the legs versus how TLG did it. POGO did a horrible job at that. The hair piece's prints are also not as vibrant or consistent as TLG's.

Sides.

POGO tried to dual mold the legs but failed. Also, notice how TLG's violet prints are consistent while for POGO, it's not.

Um. I'm not super sure but I think POGO's arms for the Wonder Twins are dual molded. Signs of arms being NOT dual molded are usually when the insides/knobs are not the same color as they are externally, but looking at these ones, the colors have been consistent.

I'd like to hear your thoughts if you think these are dual molded or just well-painted.

The first Wonder Twin wasn't as good as TLG's, but this one is even worse. I wonder why they did poorer with her compared to how they did above. I've got the same set of comments for her as the one above.

Horrible ear prints.

Same back, even though this one should have a female back.

TLG's accessories are also much better.

(Sorry, I flipped the image because I mistakenly placed the TLG piece on the left when it should be on the right just like the other pictures. I flipped the image to allow for less confusion.)
Yes, the original record from TLG is of much better quality in terms of plastic and its gloss and feel and the print.

It's also worth noting that TLG's wave 2 of TLBM figs have this baseplate included with them as opposed to how POGO and older CMFs were just released with plain black plates.

I wonder if Lepin will copy the plates and if their TLBM Wave 2 will be any better than POGO's.

You get what you pay for. This is a sign that TLG is still better in terms of quality, and arguably will always be better. Just be ready to pay a premium, but a lot of times paying more for better could be well worth it! If you can get the CMFs for cheap, then I recommend getting the original ones instead!

More reviews from my last AngeloMarcus Greenhills haul are incoming! They also got some new arrivals last Monday but I think I'll only be able to pass by by Sunday. We'll see, for now, I still have other reviews I owe you guys so stay tuned!
