Hopefully the remaining and/or rare marks will be made too.
Lepin2 690 and Lepin2 691.
Lepin 690. Despite being 690, I haven't seen these in local stores.
(from google images)
They supposedly come in metal/tin boxes.
Weirdly enough, 691 has been spotted in my country's stores for a while now.
Personally, I'm still looking for Little Star's Diamond Battlegear Iron Man mechs..
I'd like to thank Muhammad for the conversation and out hunting for more pictures and information on these sets! Haha
If you're wondering what Lepin2 is, well there's a Chinese brand with the same name as Lepin, but you'll see that their logos are different. Hence, I simply call them Lepin2.

Yup it is. That's why I call it Lepin2 Hahaha! Thankfully Oederland below has some input about it! :D
DeleteThe company behind this 乐品-Lepin is Hui Ji Toys. There was a stand at the Shanghai Toy Fair in October, showing 乐品-Lepin brick toys, but also some brick toys of the 汇集 brand (the logo for the latter looks like a green sun combined with a yellow crescent, possibly the crescent is in fact the rim of a cloud, no idea).
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, the 乐品-Lepin Ninjago toys from the fair seemed to be identical to Bozhi Ninjago toys (no copies of Lego sets, but original Bozhi design). This is why I had speculated whether 乐品-Lepin corresponds to the Bozhi / Kazi company, but considering the 汇集 brand and Hui Ji Toys I don't think so any more.
Anyway. I think it is very difficult to judge from abroad. It could be as easy as someone working at Kazi, creating Bozhi toys, who starts an own company, going with the toys that he had designed. It could be some arrangement between one toy company entering the brick market and an existing one already into brick toys to use some of their sets for some limited time to become established. It could reflect some outsourcing, with the original company not coping with the demand and working together with another toy company for some time, allowing them to sell some of the sets with their logo. It could be just copying.
Best, Oederland
This is very useful information as usual from you, big big thanks! I really need to update my Brick Brands page in the blog.. Hopefully soon I'll have more time to research more! :D
