WM WM508: Classic Captain America with Unique Helmet Mold Minifig Review

First previewed here.

We were very excited about this fig but some might be disappointed.

Quality wise, at least on the fig part, it's great. (The helmet is a different story.) The prints are great and the plastic too. The arms being majority white might not be preferred but it's not bad anyway. The legs seem dual molded but they're not, but honestly it's alright with me as long as they're well done.

The helmet though... Well it's disappointing. First issue is that the print (or the white A) does not align with the mold's A. They should've just made the mold without the A shape honestly. The wings were better painted but still not great.

Also, this helmet is made of a rubber like material. So yes, this isn't hard plastic. I honestly don't like these rubber type materials but from afar, they're almost the same as plastic molds (minus the gloss). Another issue I found is that because the material was rubber-ish, the helmet's shape wasn't as consistent. I had a hard time figuring out if the eyes/face was aligned with the helmet because of this..

Underneath the rubber-ish helmet is a hexagonal shaped hole that wasn't molded as good as we'd prefer because the overall shape/fit of the helmet seemed unaligned or inconsistent.

Moving on to the shield. It's straightforward but I think it could've been better especially with the upper portion being not painted as nicely. Still not bad though and I'm glad it's this shield and not the round one that I'm sure we have lots of already.

Now for the fig itself. Great job here, WM.

Sides! Even the side torso has prints, which is very admirable of WM!

This is the alternate face. I would've wanted like a happy or somewhat patriotic-look of a face, but I'm still glad we have two.

If you want the best of the best, I recommend checking out the source of the design which is BrothersFigure's Captain America.

Though Kopf will also have a version coming out soon. I hope to review and compare if AngeloMarcus Greenhills stocks up on it!
