DTB: Collection Update (2000th DowntheBlocks Blog Post)

It's been a journey!!

(To be fair, these pictures were taken some weeks ago. I still haven't found the time to really organize and take pictures since it's finals week in school.)

That's 1999 posts, + this one which makes 2000 posts. WOW!

I don't have a proper display for my bigfigs yet..

This is where some of the vehicles and mechs from Marvel are..

The figs with gliders and generally large accessories that don't fit in the plates are here because I have nowhere else to place them.

I used to line them up by teams or relations, but since my last clean up, the only separation that's present is:
Top - Heroes
Middle - X-Men/Villains/SHIELD
Bottom - Spider-Man/Deadpool
(Of course some of them can be segragated into two areas, but I didn't overthink that too much anymore.)

Yes, it's a mess. During the academic break, I'll try to fix up! I'm not sure if I want to buy lots of transparent display cases (maybe not because that means more spending) or just make more makeshift displays like the shoe rack I used..

If you've got any displaying techniques, recommendations, or generally just wanna share your own collection, please feel free to show me and the whole community! I'd prefer that we use fb.com/downtheblocks since I'm on that platform much more than Blogger, but if you want to comment below, feel free to do so as well! It just might take me a while longer to see them..

Finally, I'd like to thank all of you for supporting the blog. It's been an exciting journey. We've seen brands improve from being disliked to being one of the best, brands that became crap after being on top, brands that disappeared, brands that just started, and I'm sure we saw a lot more other things in the alternative bricks industry and we'll continue to see more!

Oh, and for those wondering why I named the site DownTheBlocks, well I wanted some sort of slogan or line that started or ended my posts with something along the lines of "Stay tuned for more things down the blocks." I know, it's corny and cheesy, but the name grew on me and I hope it grew on you guys too!

Thanks again, everyone!

  7. Thanks for all your work, this is my go-to blog for all things minifig! A quick question: is the building in pics 2 and 4 from a set or is it your own design? Keel up the great work!!!

  9. Congratulation and many thanks for your effort buddy! I start following these type of blog in 2015, where i start with Malaysian page MyBrickStore, then i saw that this blog is not active, then i found EuroBricks which is awesome but turns out to be purist page, then i found Reddit topic, which i've once chat with you on a post, and when i found your blog, i stick to it until now... as i mention before, if you come to Malaysia, please let me have the honor to treat you for lunch/dinner, as token of appreciation for your hard work
