WM WM510: Captain America with MCU Helmet Minifig Review

First previewed here!

This review will basically be a review of the helmet because the fig itself is just the same old Captain America that we see.

So the helmet isn't plastic and is instead a rubber-ish (or actually rubber) material. I have no complaints about the type of material as long as they fit well, both in and out, meaning they have good shape. Along with that, the printing should be good too. Unfortunately, the printing isn't as good as we'd prefer, and while the head fits nicely inside, the overall shape is too tall giving Cap a huge head design.

You can see how the paint on the wing/ears of the helmet aren't consistent.

Even the A letter on the helmet's printing isn't consistent.

Nice try, WM? It's not the best, but it's not the worst. I know we've all seen worse, but that shouldn't be an excuse. I do hope WM improves their mold making and keep on making collectors happy, because while this specific fig wasn't great, they have a lot of other figs that have been great!

If you're into a Captain America minifig with a unique helmet mold, then I recommend checking out the classic Captain America design instead that both Kopf and WM made!

  1. I like to put em on top of normal flesh heads like the original customizer intended

  2. It's based on this: http://www.brothersfigure.com/img/parts/P02_b.jpg by brothers brick. but it's not a very good reproduction. Really hoping someone else does it better, as I'd like one.

  3. There's a huge problem with the helmet -- the softer material breaks down over time (about a month in my case), transfers, and will stain the head. The stain wasn't removable with a pencil eraser without also destroying the face printing.

I used the helmet on another Captain America minifig with a flesh-colored head. So I ended up losing 2x minifigs. Lucky that clone minifigs are cheap to replace.
