First previewed here!
One of POGO's better sets? Kinda?
PG1557 - Star-Lord
PG1558 - Teen Groot
PG1563 - Peter Parker
PG1564 - Okoye
Actually reviewed White Wolf/Bucky from this same set here.
This set strays away from POGO's blurry mess. Recent POGO figs adopted the blurry and thick printing, but this one seemingly ended the streak. (I'm wrong though.) Though while this one doesn't come with that blurry printing, it's still not perfect.
The plastic seems the same as before, not horrible but definitely not good. The print is much better and smaller designs are better captured this time. Some implementation of designs didn't end up looking good though, more on this below.
First off, which Teen Groot do you prefer? Or would you prefer the TLG colored one?
The one on the left is POGO's Teen Groot while the one on the right is XINH's. XINH's got more green elements than POGO, and is much more consistent. I didn't have an issue with the lack of greens in POGO's fig, but if you look at the top portion of POGO's head, there's this sudden change of shade which I find unattractive.
Surprisingly, POGO's legs came with side prints unlike XINH's!
Though while the legs might have all-around printing, XINH's back definitely looks better. Add to that, the head mold for XINH is much more consistent and smoother as opposed to POGO's with that plastic nub being very visible.
Much better printing, right? Still not perfect. I think they look really good because we just came from POGO's blurry prints, but they're still not great. Though the details are well-printed, the colors could've come out better. As for the plastic, again it's not bad but it's also not great.
I also love Peter's beanie/mask here. Though I wish the print reached the edge more.
Also had a minor issue with Star-Lord's head/hair. They couldn't fully clutch, but it also wasn't loose. This resulted in a tiny gap in between..
Side view.
Normal beanie look for Peter on the back.
No alternate faces.
I apologize for the very late review. I honestly thought I already posted this, because I got this from AngeloMarcus Greenhills already days/weeks ago!
I'm hoping POGO adopts this way of making figs more instead of the recent blurry ones, then keep improving on this..
