DTB DTB093: Classic Ant-Man Minifig MOC

Well, he could actually be Hank Pym or Scott Lang or Eric O'Grady or just some dude in the blue and red Ant-Man suit.

I really just made this one to try out these new markers I got from Miniso, a Japanese-inspired store in the Philippines. (But it's really from China as far as I know, it's really just inspired by Japanese LOL)

Sheng Yuan released an Ant-Man minifig that used this helmet, but it came with black gloves and black-and-red legs.

So I picked up this Acrylic Painter marker to try on the figs.

It's a lot like paint but instead on a marker tip.

Had a hard time reaching the inside of that right angle on the feet.

Finished up.

When it dried, it lost the gloss. I guess that's expected when you paint on your figs. Overall, I'm happy with the markers. I'm horrible with brushes and I don't have the time and space to handle the mess of getting paint and brushes and all that. Having a marker that can write on this surface and really cover the surface is a great thing to have for small changes like this.

Miniso sold them for 3 markers for PHP 100. Not bad considering Sharpie markers are at around PHP 50 each.

I put Iron Fist and Luke Cage on the picture because that episode on the cartoon was the first time I was introduced to Scott Lang.

  1. Great job, DTB!

I also have been surveying markers for both lego minifigs and action figures. :)

The marker you used is "acrylic paint". Does it have a sticky effect?
