As you may all know, these great designs we keep seeing are often from other designers and Chinese brands simply copy them and print them on their own figs. Gladiator, for example, is from SFX Minifigures. I always say that if you want the best, then get the original. You're getting a genuine minifigure plus you're supporting the designer.
If you think they're pricy, it's because genuine minigures really are pricey and these guys don't have access to big factories where mass production makes it cheap (it's also the reason why Chinese brands can't afford to make unpopular characters because they need to produce in the thousands or else their production costs won't be worth it; if the character doesn't sell well then they'll have hundreds to thousands of figs in storage which will also incur them costs).
In summary, without these customizers, we wouldn't have these great designs available for cheap. So when possible, go and support them!
