PSA: New AliExpress Rule Prevents Sale of Knockoff Minifigures and Sets (UPDATED)

Title says it all. I've received messages regarding this.

(Screenshot from a reader/AliExpress customer.)

For a while now, AliExpress sellers have opted not to list brands in their posts and we all thought this would be enough but apparently it's not and most, but probably all, knockoff minifigures and sets will be gone soon.

I am 100% sure though that the big brands will have potential solutions to this problem, namely Kopf and WM. (Affiliate links; last chance to buy figs? :( ) I'll update you guys about these as well.

I guess POGO was smart for starting to release boxed minifigures, right? Lol/

I'll keep you guys updated.

We are still not aware of all the details and more information would be appreciated.

UPDATE

AliExpress stores will continue to be able to sell sets and minifigures. Despite initial reports from both readers and other AliExpress stores saying that the rule above is real, later reports and responses have denied this. In the end, I think we're all pleased to hear the reports are untrue.

At least, not fully true. Brands and stores will still have to be more careful specifically with their product listings. If you're not aware, what TLG used against Lepin was mostly the box artworks that Lepin used for their products since building block toys as a whole should be public and is not limited for TLG's use.

Finally, I'd like to apologize for sharing false news. I took about an hour before posting this last night when I first heard the news because I wanted to do a bit more research and inquiry; within that hour, a number of stores and other readers have said that the rule is true and so I decided to finally share the information. (/r/Lepin also had a discussion about it even earlier than this post) I didn't mean to cause panic or anything like that at all but instead a precaution to those holding off buying some sets or minifigures. Though in this instance, I am glad that I was wrong and that the news is [now] false.

Happy brick collecting to everyone!

  2. Could also just be a BS sales tactic to sell bigger sets, especially if it was a message from a single seller.

"Buy now, before it's too late!"

  3. I did not see this message in my messages from Aliexpress. Or anywhere on their website..

  5. I've asked to AliExpress' sellers that I'm used to buy from about this new rule, and a seller got suprised with this info and said that he would ask to AliExpress Seller Support Service. Past some minutes this seller sent me a message saying that this new rule should not be true.

    2. Another seller has answered me now saying that he didn't received this rule update from Aliexpress 'til now. So probably this info couldn't be true.

    3. A third seller has answered the same, this rule probably doesn't exist!

    4. Great news. Weirdly enough for me, I asked two sellers in addition to the other people I asked to ask for me as well and they all said there was a new rule. In the end, I'm happy it's not true

    5. I don't know how it began, probably it was a rumour that started between AE sellers and some sellers warned its customers. I afraid that sometimes a rumour shows itself as false at the beginning and it turns real after a while. Let's hope that AE don't block sellers to sell Lego knockoff brands so soon.

Thank you again DTB to keep us well informed with building blocks toys news. You make a great job here!

  6. yeaaah, but when does china follow the rules...
I saw that they stopped accepting paypal, again (due to "fees", again), on their site earlier this year, yet i'm still able to use paypal with some of the sellers.

  7. I've talked to several big sellers on Ali. All of them said they haven't heard about this new rule either. Maybe it's just those certain brands and pogo,wm and kopf will not have any issues?

  9. A low price quality game

What is good with Lepin is that you can buy a playful toy, good quality, cheaper. The bricks are made of ABS plastic.
It is known for its robustness, its resistance against scratches and finally for the security it provides. Indeed, this material is not dangerous for health, and this is what is most important when we talk about objects dedicated to children.
The size of each brick has also been studied although there is always a risk of choking for small children. This game is for children over 6 years old.
A fun game and compatible with other brands

This game is delivered brand new, with 8445 pieces. Each of them is compatible with bricks of the same shape, belonging to other brands like Lego. The more bricks you have, the more you can build new structures.

Your children can then use their intelligence to create more or less significant forms. This game contains an instruction manual to help the user in the construction.
