Duo Le Pin DLP9092: Spider-Man Minifigures with Into the Spider-Verse SP//dr Mech Review

First previewed here!

View of the box.

They mostly came with web accessories that I won't be covering in the review anymore.

Anti-Venom came with that web accessory build and Spider-Man Noir came with a coat I didn't attach anymore.

 From L to R:
Spider-Man Anti-Ock Suit
Spider-Man Velocity Suit
Spider-Man Noir
Spider-Man Far from Home final suit

I love the Anti-Ock Suit and the Velocity Suit! I've seen better Spider-Man Noir variants like from KORUIT though.

The white/silver lines on Spider-Man's sides here seemed a bit distracting. Not a fan of the design but at least it's a bit different from other variants of the same suit.

Loving the details at the back!

Miles Morales here is a boring variant. The Iron Spider (MCU) also isn't new. The PS4 Spider-Man here could be new if you're seeing this set before another DLP set that has the same design. I already covered that PS4 Spider-Man in a comparison among the other PS4 Spider-Man variants compared to the SDCC PS4 Spider-Man minifigure that came out.

Unfortunate that my PS4 Spider-Man minifig had grey scratches on him. These aren't big scratches and thankfully none of the other figs in the set had similar issues.

I was surprised to see that DLP didn't include back prints for Miles Morales.. I wonder why especially since he even has simpler back prints than the rest of the variants in the set.

Now for Anti-Venom. We've seen a number of Anti-Venom variants already, both bigfigs and minifigs, but this is probably my favorite one. Though I gotta say, I'm not a fan of the symbiote tendrils at the back. They're just too huge!

I can see though that DLP has been experimenting with the bigfig mold. As you can see on his shoulders, there are two small holes. I bet this is to make room for future upgrades or accessories such as capes.

At the back he gets one open stud to accomodate accessories. In the picture, that's actually a round 1x1 stud already attached into Anti-Venom. If you remove the stud, you'll see a hole that's a bit hidden under the spider logo.. It's a bit difficult to explain and I should've taken a picture before attaching that round stud because when I tried to remove the stud, I couldn't anymore. There are no allowances for removing the stud unlike usual flat pieces from Lego.

If someone could share a picture of Anti-Venom's bare back, please do so more people can see and understand!

A potential downside: the head of Anti-Venom doesn't use the conventional Technic design. Instead the head just has a peg that fits inside the bigfig body. No complaints personally though.

Now for the highlight of the set in my opinion; usually we just disregard the combiner builds because they're corny or boring. Thankfully this time, DLP gave us a great build! (Arguably great, at least.)

This is perhaps what I disliked the most about this mech: the feet/legs. I had trouble keeping him standing up because of the way his feet are shaped. Don't get me wrong, you can easily make him stand up but it might leave him in an awkward pose. With patience though, it's not a big deal.

He fits a minifig inside! I absolutely love the core or torso of the mech. It opens up on almost all sides and when it closes up, it looks so seamless!

Here it is with a Spider-Man minifigure insde.

Not bad?

The hands are similar to the feet and they all have immovable "thumbs." Didn't like that too much but I think people can easily modify it to have movable thumbs with a few spare parts.

I did notice a plastic defect(?) with the black 2x2 piece with handles. As you can see the handle on one side is shorter than the other. Despite that, the mech was still pretty sturdy,

I think this one's worth it for the SP//dr mech. It's not perfect but for a combiner build, it's pretty good. Way better than generic mechs or combiner vehicles we've been getting from similar sets. Most of the Spider-Man minifigures are boring though but the print and plastic quality are pretty good as expected from Duo Le Pin.

I'd give it minus points though for not having a Peni Parker minifigure!
