POGO PG1849, PG1851, PG1854, PG1855: Classic Electro, Wonder Woman (JL 3000), and Other DC Minifigures Review

First previewed here!

PG1854 - Ocean Master
PG1855 - Wonder Woman 3000
PG1851 - Classic Electro
PG1849 - Superman (Injustice 2)

Let's start with the DC minifigures. As far as designs go, these three look amazing! New variants and technically even new characters.

The print quality of these new POGO figs is really good though. They're not the thick type of printing that we've been seeing and have nice colors and defined lines. I think they would look even better if the plastic quality was just as good; the plastic still feels and looks cheap at times which is a shame considering the great printing.

Glad to see we have options when it comes to characters with helmets; some might prefer normal eyes while some prefer visors. Thank you, POGO.

One of my personal favorites [of all time now], Classic Electro! Prints for him are really good like the others, but to be fair these are simple prints. The real show stealer is the helmet mold. We've seen better molds in the past for sure, but this one's still pretty decent. It feels sturdy enough and is solid plastic. It also fits on the head nicely!

The hands had problems though: those electricity pieces wouldn't stay inside the hands. Not a huge deal though since hands are a commodity anyway.

I love Electro so much, I posted about him on Instagram.

POGO PG8210 Rating

Plastic Quality: 2.5/5
While it's generally decent, the general mold of the minifigure still felt and looked cheap during a lot of times. If the plastic quality was more like XINH's or Kopf's or Sheng Yuan's, the prints would also look way better, and the prints already look good now.

Print Quality: 4/5
I want to give it a higher rating but it's really hard to tell when the plastic it's printed on isn't as good. I think it makes sense though that the prints won't look as great on plastic that isn't great in the same way that a painting might not look great on cheap paper.

Build Quality: 4/5
These ones are pretty simple so there's not a lot in terms of build quality. I remember struggling building some old POGO figs though but for these ones, it was smooth building. The hands though were an issue for Electro but that's probably more of a quality control issue.

Design Choice: 5/5
It's 5/5 for me even though the characters aren't necessarily new. These are the types of variants we want to see, or at least I hope most of us want to see. I'm definitely looking forward to more POGO designs after this one.

Do I recommend this? Yes! I hope that when POGO reviews their sales performance, they notice that more people are buying their good quality, good design choice minifigures over their horrible printed and poorly designed figures. If or when they do notice that, I expect we'll see more new characters with even better prints and I hope that other brands follow!

I've got another batch of POGO figures from my recent AngeloMarcus Greenhills haul and quality is similar, which is good news!

  1. I still don't understand why lego made that classic electro for duplo and not normal lego

  2. I have noticed that POGO plastic is better on the StarWars and LOTR figures. is it similar on these? POGO Marvel/DC figures I found were sunken as if they skimped on injecting enough PBS. Almost as though they were made in a different factory.

  3. My Fate and Electro just arrived.

Torso plastic is good. Pretty much exactly like how old pogo used to be. Some shine, not too many injection issues - there is a slight lack of uniformity to the surface but on par with XINH. The legs are quite Dull, but fairly uniform with slight seaming down the sides. Slightly better than bad-Pogo. no sunken surfaces noted however, which is much better than bad-pogo. Fates helmet would not fit on. This tested as a stud issue on his head. (Too big) Prints are clear and colours on the torso are good, although the two figures I received are not that detailed, this is by design. the print on the legs is a little dull, possibly caused by the lower quality plastic. It looks the part though, and I am no longer avoiding POGO figures. Ive ordered a bunch more :)
