The accessories they came with. I've never seen Magik with a purple word but I don't think this looks too bad either. Customizers will love the sword though.

I appreciate that POGO is trying to give us all around prints, but these just look horrible.
Even those capsule pieces are poor quality.
Poorly printed yellow parts.
Weird that only Cannonball had an alternate face.
POGO New Mutants Grading:
Print Quality: 1.5/5
The prints aren't well-defined and the coloring is just horrible. Lots of the yellows aren't vibrant and aren't even fully colored. It doesn't stop with the yellows though as other colors also look off.
Plastic Quality: 2/5
Plastic felt horrible. You'll also see lots of chips and white marks on random parts of the figs.
Build Quality: 3/5
The arms look like they're gonna fall off sometimes and they also don't feel like they have good articulation. At least they're not too tight or too loose though.
Design Choice: 4.5/5
Would be a five if they gave us more of the New Mutants!
Those are pretty low grades, but from a distance these actually look decent. Still, I wish POGO would improve steadily instead of fluctuating their quality.
I didn't review the other three from the set since AngeloMarcus Greenhills doesn't have those yet. Hopefully though we see more of the New Mutants so that I can take a full family picture!

They should just print the top part of the legs instead of the lower/boot part. Those tend to look neatly printed instead.
ReplyDeleteSince i already had the Cannonball/Magik releases with their graduate costumes, i turned these into Doug and Karma. Now I just need a Warlock and Sunspot, and I'm all set!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not the best prints, and also pretty poor quality plastic, but boy i love these figs. I will make a Karma and Cypher as well. I hope they will release that Sunspot shown earlier. And Warlock can be custom made :-)
