This is such a disappointing set. Not a single new character. I guess it's nice to have a new variant of Red She-Hulk though along with a minifigure version of Gladiator Hulk.
Maybe this is a result of all the new MCU properties being pushed back (Black Widow and reportedly even the Disney+ shows) so XINH has nothing to do for MCU. I wish they made something else though, maybe make some based on Marvel comics or even an entirely different theme.
Additionally, most, if not all, of these are copied from other designers. We thought XINH started making original designs, hopefully they make more originals again soon. (Well, supposedly original.)
Red She-Hulk seems to be a copy of Onlinesailin's custom Lego Minifigure.
Gladiator Hulk is a Hobby Brick clone, except Hobby Brick actually made new molds for the hammer and helmet. Easily recognizable because of Hobby Brick's iconic face designs; shame that XINH didn't even bother to just use a regular Hulk face. (Which I prefer, no offense to Hobby Brick, it's just personal preference but everything else from Hobby Brick looks absolutely stunning.)
Side note: I made an old figbash/MOC of Gladiator Hulk here.
Whiplash seems heavily inspired by Lab9's new Whiplash custom Lego Minifigure. So disappointed that they did this because they even already released a pretty good Whiplash minifigure some time back.

Scarlet Witch seems to be copied from another designer, cm4sci. They have lots of other great work, check them out!
I'm getting more and more knowledgable about these custom Minifigures because I've also started ordering some. Just a few and mostly second-hand stuff because they are expensive. IG is filled with people who share content about custom Minifigures! Personally, I learned most from @geekover40! (He also helped me with the Spider Book names, that I haven't posted yet cause I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, sorry!)

Those who only collect minifigures are lucky with Gladiator Hulk! Red She-Hulk is nice. I like Spider-Man with a damage suit and detailed accessories. Whiplash Mk2 XH716 has no bright eyes, that annoyed me a lot, it has improved XINH well! But overall boring ... What about Aldrich Kilian, General Ross, Miek, War Machine Mk1, Batroc the Leaper ...

DeleteYes right? they got a lot more characters that they could’v done and improve yes such as miek, general ross, berserkers, einherjar, hydra agent, nova corps ,arnim zola (the winter soldier), the sorcerer that follow kaecilius aldrich killian, anton vanko (F1 circuit scene), lady sif, kurse, carina (gotg), batroc the leaper, von strucker, justin hammer, korath (gotg), baron mordo, the scorpian, the prowler/ childish gambino, the shocker, the thinker, supreme intelligence, ghost, the other ( the avengers) ,the grandmaster, the old raveger and many other character from gotg and thor ragnarok ouh maybe even friday get a plate
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree. I really want a Korath from GOTG 1; I'm glad we have him in Starforce costume but he definitely deserves another variant in his GOTG outfit.
