The LEGO Ideas version can technically play music; you connect the power function to an app and when you press on the piano, the sound will play on your phone. With that, it's not accurate that the model itself can actually play music. I'm not sure if that's the case with this Xinyu build, but I'm willing to bet it is because it seems unlikely that a plastic model build can play the same sounds a piano can.
What usually happens with LEGO Ideas is that a project or an idea is submitted. At the point that it's submitted, it's already a done project. However, if Lego approves of the idea then Lego will step in and modify the build; as such, the design becomes available in the market will be slightly different from what the designer originally submitted.
My guess is that Xinyu, and other Chinese brick companies, probably copied the designs that were originally created by the designer; this means that these pianos that we might find online from Chinese blocks brands are not the same as what LEGO will be releasing (assuming LEGO alters the Ideas submission). The reason that this is my guess is because the real LEGO Ideas set is not yet released and so these companies have not much to copy from. Although despite all that, this build still has a number of differences from the IDEAS entry; I still think though that the designer deserves more credit because whoever made this XINYU design was probably heavily inspired by the IDEAS set at the least.
