POGO PG1099-PG1102: 4 of 8 Masters of the Universe Minifigs Review

First previewed here!

Aaaaaand finally!

So we have PG1099 Ram Man, PG1110 Faker, PG1101 He-Man, and PG1102 Skeletor!

Let's start with He-Man. First of all, the quality of these figs are similar with each other so when I say one thing about one fig, it more or less applies to all of them.
Now this fig is great. The molds are great, and the prints are also good. There are some issues though: 1) the plastic nubs on the molds and 2) some minor print issues. The plastic nubs kinda suck, it's as if they were just removed from GUNPLA runners. For the second issue, well the legs aren't the same color as the torso which has been an issue among some bootleggers recently even though they can do better..

The weapons. POGO went the distance and even made these new molds yay! The shield though isn't as good when it comes to the prints because the red is "incomplete".

The shield attaches to the arms with slightly wider claws to attach.

Side print. Seems useful for MOCs.

Side print. No leg side prints, sadly.

And the back. Do note that NONE OF THESE MINIFIGS have alternate faces. Also, it sucks that the armor is one sided and it's the same for Skeletor and Faker. Also, no back leg printing.

I'm glad though that they have torso printing especially since their source picture wasn't too detailed on the insides, as far as I know. As for the design, we'll that's up to preference!

Now for Faker. You immediately see the plastic nub on the side of his head. Too bad POGO didn't take the time to better remove these guys from their runners or something like that.

He comes with just one sword. A recolor of He-Man's.

Side view. Nothing to see here.

And still no side leg prints.

Almost identical to He-Man except colors. Same issues too.

Under the armor.

The two side by side. So they're different in colors and in armor. He-Man also has more weapons.

Now for Skeletor. He comes with two accessories: that staff and that sword, and they're amazing.

First if all the hood and chest armor are separate pieces. You can also see the plastic nub on the side of the hood, sadly. Other than the nubs, these are great.

Nothing much on the sides.

Same armor as Faker and so same back-less design.

Under the hood and under the armor. Is that head accurate by being green? I don't know but I like it personally. Also, the torso is more or less identical to the previous two.

Now for Ram Man. One of my favorite molds. The details on the mold itself are great.

He comes with just one weapon: an axe.

Side view.

So this time the armor is all the way around and not back-less unlike the previous three.

Underneath the armor is that torso. Again, kudos to POGO for including torso prints.

Back print. No leg prints as expected.

Where to use that helmet? Maverick Customs recommended this Ram Man helmet as a helmet for the white suit Magneto that was previously released!

Overall a great set. It's much better than Kopf's He-Man set, but I think the Kopf's print quality was much better in terms of colors, sharpness, details, etc. even though the designs were meh. (Although to be fair, the Kopf/WM He-Man and Skeletor figs were great and were in line with TLG designs.) The designs are obviously not in line with TLG's but that's up to preference.

The issues on the plastic nubs are there, but the molds are also still better than POGO's recent Xenomorphs since the Xenomorph molds aren't too detailed or defined as these ones.

I'm definitely looking forward to some more POGO molds, and their recently previewed sets also have more molds like the one with Clayface/Black Panther/Classic Batman and that one with Dr. Fate. Hopefully they're released soon so that my visits to AngeloMarcus Greenhills can be more and more exciting!!

My wish for now though is a brand that makes XINH quality [bare] minifigs with POGO unique and never-before-seen molds!

  4. You could get rid of the plastic nubs with a nail clipper or hobby knife so they look better.

    1. Yup! I used to do it for some Gunpla kits and I realize they can work here too. I just hope that we didn't need to do that in the first place..
