Late review on the first two, sorry!
These four complete the 2nd Masters of the Universe set.
I'll say it now so I don't have to keep repeating it, these guys are more or less the same quality as the previous POGO MOTU sets. Okay--bad print quality and okay--bad plastic quality. The new molds though are very interesting and make them very much worth getting! And so, these new and unique molds and its features will be the focus of this review.
PG1109 - Mer-Man
PG1113 - Stratos
Underneath this is what Mer-man looks like. Faded yellow on the legs, unfortunately. Pretty much similar to the other designs too, just in different color and some modifications.
He comes with this interesting sword piece though!
He also gets his unique helmet and a unique chest piece too.
Nothing on the sides.
Like most of the MOTU figs, the chest armor just covers the front.
Again, the blue isn't consistent throughout the fig; the hip piece and the underwear print aren't the same blue. Other than that, the designs are similar to other MOTU figs except the head which is designed for the character at least. (Seems like a useful face for MOCs too)
These are his accessories. I think the head/helmet could've been printed much better. The interesting part here are the arm guards, (the red pieces), they simply attach to the fig by clipping them onto the arms. It didn't require a lot of force and it also wasn't too loose. It was a smooth attachment and I hope to see more similar accessories soon (well, later we'll see something similar and arguably more useful.)
The overall fig.
Ths sides.
More or less the same as other MOTU figs.
PG 1112 - Beastman
PG1114 - Clawful
Let's first look at both with most of their accessories on.
The sides.
Armor-less backs as expected.
Similar torso and leg designs.
Now for that interesting part: these shoulder pads. They attach easily to the arm. Not requiring too much force and also not being too loose even when you move the arms. For some reason though, and I'm not sure if it's just me, is that the shoulder piece only work on one arm, meaning that there's a designated left shoulder piece and right shoulder piece. I just did trial and error to see which one fit better. I believe this method of accessorizing could become very useful for MOCs, hopefully we see more mold designs or even color designs.
Other than the shoulder pieces, these are his other accessories.
These are Clawful's accessories.
Clawful also has normal hands and this green weapon thing.
Also, these are how his hands look like. No nubs or anything, just flat and will rely on friction to attach.
Again, these guys are worth it for the molds alone. Claw arms, shoulder guards, arm guards, helmets, weapons, you name it. If you want the bare minifigs, well I hope you're okay with them.
I'm also glad that all the faces have prints, because for example, Clawful doesn't really need a minifig head face because he has a helmet. Thankfully, POGO still made faces! Yay!
Check out the other MOTU related posts here.
These four complete the POGO MOTU series [as of January 2018]. I got them all from AngeloMarcus Greenhills even though MOTU wasn't so big in the Philippines. Glad they always try to get all the themes and characters bootleggers are releasing.

I’m still annoyed that Clawful can’t hold his weapon with his claw hands, even though the promo pic said he could.
ReplyDeleteYeah I actually almost forgot to include the weapon in the review because usually, I make the minifigs hold their accessories right after I open them from the plastic bags and unfortunately, he couldn't hold his weapon.. ugh
DeleteAny word on if they plan on making more characters from He-Man?
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but I'm currently doubting there are any more coming any time soon because they already copied all of the figs from this fan art http://underscoopfire.com/are-masters-of-the-universe-lego-sets-closer-to-reality-than-you-think/
