Inspired because they weren't really cloned.. I mean, they don't look as good as the originals and the originals themselves arguably aren't even that great.
Some of them are okay, I guess. I'd still recommend waiting for other brands to make IW figs though. Personally I just want to collect all the possible Marvel figs, so don't mind me! + I'd love to review for you guys!
This is the preview picture by the way.
These are the extra builds they came with.. They are ridiculous for the most part but the parts could come in handy for MOCers!
We see here though that SY hasn't cheaped out on us too much yet, since they still provide those containers for the capes. Also, the quality on these figs is still amazing for both plastic and print. The designs are another story though; they really should allocate more fund and efforts into their design teams or replace them altogether.
Again, quality wise this whole set is great. The plastic feels great. The prints are done well. The designs are another story. They are not looking too good. Even the faces are off and don't look like the usual minifig faces. The designs of the torsos/legs also easily give off the characters' looks but they're still not as good looking as the originals and they still have that "off" vibe to them.
It's sad that I'm a bit surprised they didn't mess up the shield, lol.
Another frog face Cap... Even the back torso design looks horrible. Black Widow at least looks a bit better.
Moving on to Hulk and Thor. I would've liked a bigfig Hulk; a normal Hulk with black shorts (no tattoos like the one from DLP) but then we got this one... This Hulk is almost the same as the previous Hulk fig.. (SY656) Thor on the other hand is more interesting in my opinion.. but I find him interesting as a minifig but not as a Thor. He does not look like Thor at all. I don't know what SY was thinking when they made him, and the hair doesn't match his facial hair at all too.. Weird choices by SY.
In terms of print and plastic though, quality is still superb.
Hulk you look ridiculous from the sides. No side prints...
Same issue with the back for Hulk... So his shorts were basically just the front!? SY's design team is really bad.. Look at Thor's back too, we can assume that he's wearing some sort of armor but you can still see his back muscles too as if he was just wearing cloth..
Again, I at least find the Thor fig interesting. I replaced his hair and decided to get rid of his red hair. Now he looks much better. Thinking of using his parts for MOCs, but I've yet to come across a MOC idea. Stay tuned, just in case!
Now for the two Peters in the group. Peter Quill aka Star Lord and Peter Parker aka Spider-Man/Iron Spider. Both are still great in terms of print and plastic quality. Design wise, I think these two are two of the better ones in the set. I think I actually prefer this Star-Lord's torso over TLG's. I still prefer TLG's Iron Spider though.
Uhhh. SY tried to fool us by giving Star-Lord these pieces instead of his gun.. SY never got Star-Lord's guns' molds and they didn't think to make it even now.
Underneath the mask. His face kinda reminds me of Henry Cavill's CGI mouth cause of how it's shaped.. Lol.
No side prints again. This sucks especially for Iron Spider who has such a great source design.
A view of the back. No back leg prints too.
A comparison.
Dargo Star-Lord - SY Star-Lord - Decool Star-Lord
You can see how very very different this new SY Star-Lord is. I personally like it just because now there's more variety within my Star-Lord collection.
Now for
Moving on, underneath Iron Man's mask is a stranger. I mean, c'mon, that does not look like Tony at all. Doctor Strange also doesn't look too much like he does in the movie.. Maybe because there's no Eye of Agamotto? I still like the look of Strange though, and he even has a sling ring on his belt!
A view of the sides. A view of Iron Man's wing pack too, also different from TLG's.
A view of the back.
Back torso prints. Accurate? I'm not sure.
These figs are of great quality, I just think the designs were meh. It's great though that they didn't simply clone TLG; hopefully this is practice and that they constantly improve.
Still, if you wanna save up as much as you want, maybe you can wait for KOPF/XINH/POGO/etc. to release their Infinity War themed sets/figs. I'll try to get them all and compare and review for you guys when AngeloMarcus Greenhills gets them. They also have this set as far as I know in case you wanna compare for yourself when the time comes.

ReplyDeletewatch Avengers Infinity War online free on zmovies now. I'm not a huge fan of the superhero genre, but I'm able to appreciate these movies and have a good time when I watch them, however I can't say the same for Infinity War.
ReplyDeleteOverall it was just a huge mess. A basic cliché formula which consisted entirely of several over-the-top action sequences with snarky one-liners from the "characters" every now and then. The plot barely made any sense, in fact most of the time I barely knew what was going on and the villain's motives were unoriginal and cliché
