First previewed here.
I'll be focusing more on the figs though.
NO. 690-1
NO. 690-2
NO. 690-3
NO. 690-4
NO. 690-5
NO. 690-6
Do they correspond to real marks? Not sure, but signs point to no as of now. You can compare them to the real Iron Man marks in my guide here, which I'll also be updating soon.
Though one issue in case you didn't notice, 690-1 is disappointingly NOT WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE BOX. What a shame.
What's underneath the tin boxes they came in, in case you're interested.
This is also what all the 6 mechs combine into, though I didn't build that anymore.
Moving on to minifig quality. I think they were generally fine. I would say they're better than POGO, but definitely not XINH level, or even Lele level. They are certainly not bad, and I really hope to see more from this brand.
It's also worth noting that the heads/faces they included are very weird and do not fit Tony's standards, at least most of them.
And again, 690-1 is NOT what was on the box which is very disappointing.
What was interesting is that 690-1, the wrong fig [from the box art] has a different leg mechanism.. I wonder what this could mean..
Alright, so generally some good figs, well, good enough figs. I would say they're worth getting if you're a huge Iron Man fan, but since they don't represent real marks, think about it well too.
We might as well view one of the mechs though. For the most part, the general build of the mechs are all similar with changes only on the outer parts; meaning the frame is basically the same.
The plastic quality waas okay, but some of the pieces felt like they had sharp edges. My fingers didn't hurt in the process of building all 6 (consecutively), unlike when I was building a the Decool Spidercopter set, but it also wasn't a pleasant building experience compared to Lepin or SY builds.
One potentially huge issue though are the ball joints and their receivers. Connect them together and you'll see the strain on the plastic immediately. Weak plastic? Maybe. Articulation? It was good though.
If I'm not mistaken, AngeloMarcus Greenhill still has a couple in stock. I'm hoping they get some of the older Lepin2 sets too.
Still waiting for some brand to finally complete the Hall of Armor though.. and maybe those hard to find previously released marks too...
