First previewed here!
XINH 879 - Tony Stark
XINH 880 - Ayo
XINH 881 - Pepper
XINH 883 - Peter Parker
XINH 884 - James Rhodes (War Machine)
XINH 885 - Okoye
I love these figs a lot. I think the only real issue I have with this set is the sleeve-printing method, aka when they just slap on the print rather than going all the way around the arms. (Though this only happened to Rhodey and Peter.)
Print is superb. Details are very visible and the colors are good! Plastic feels great, right amount of gloss and good articulation.
Slapped on arm prints for Rhodes.. They just look so horrible.. Solution? Paint the non-printed parts? Also, this Tony might be good, but it's not the same as TLG's upcoming TRU exclusives. (Not even sure how they'll distribute those in the US considering there's no more Toys R Us in the States..)
Well printed arms for Tony, but Rhodes is a different story. Not just is he using slapped on printing, the other arm's sleeve prints aren't even aligned..
No alternate faces sadly.
If you want the real deal War Machine, then you should check XINH's here.
Now for two of T'Challa's best warriors. Ayo was the Dora Milaje present in Civil War, Okoye wasn't in the MCU yet back then. If you plan on army-building the Dora Milaje, Ayo is a great option.
You also might be wondering why Okoye is wearing orange, well if you look at her costume/s in the films, you'll see that her attire really is more orange than the other Dora Milaje.
They came with these spears, but Okoye comes with a nicer one. (Subjective, of course.) Both are of great quality and didn't feel flimsy at all. Good news for army builders.
Ayo's face looks a bit off though.. XINH used to be known for making great figs with awkward faces and I think Ayo is one of them again, but isn't as bad as the previous ones at least.
Side view with the armor.
Side view without the armor.
More interestingly, Ayo comes with an alternate face even though she's supposed to be bald.. Solution? Replace the whole head or erase it with your preferred eraser. (I use pencil erasers, but they require a good amount of rubbing and pressure.)
With PG1563. The biggest complaint about POGO's Okoye was that her skin is too light, and I agree. XINH fixes that though.
With PG1564. Remember how I said that I don't like slapped on prints? Well, POGO did it way worse with Peter.. XINH really improved on it, even though this Peter also still has slapped on prints.
Not as bad as Rhodey, and definitely not as bad as POGO's.
It's also weird how POGO decided to use the undershirt (blue) as the mold color and not the outerwear (jacket). At least POGO tried to make up for it with leg prints.
No alternate faces.
Both the beanies/masks. When I first saw the POGO one, I thought it wasn't bad, but seeing XINH's.. I can easily say now that POGO could've done better.
Pepper. Received her from AngeloMarcus Greenhills way before the others above, but I decided to wait for the others before really posting about her. Well she's also a great fig and I'm glad she has an easily accessible fig now. The Iron Man 3 Pepper is hard to get now, because no bootleggers really ever made her except Lele and/or Bozhi, and even those are hard to find.
Only issue, and hopefully an isolated one, is that the leg prints aren't centered.
Also a great way to get that hair piece, right?
Nothing much on the side.
No alternate face. I would've wanted an angry or worried face for interactions with Tony. Legs di get back print.
I already reviewed Groot and Supergiant and compared to POGO, who are also from the same set.
AngeloMarcus Greenhills' recent arrivals were mostly XINH and it was a great haul. Starting out with these guys to review is also tons of fun because you see more good than bad.
More soon. Stay tuned!
