POGO PG784, PG786: Moloch, Luke Skywalker, and Imperial Patrol Trooper Minifigs Review

First previewed here!

Let's start with Luke and Moloch. First of all, I'm glad that POGO didn't use the blurry kind of printing here. Though it's still not perfect. Moving on though, these are the accessories they came with.

Now for the figs themselves. For the most part, both are pretty okay. The plastic doesn't feel or look expensive, but it definitely does the job at least. The holds, hair for Luke and head for Moloch, are both pretty good as well even though occassionally you'd see some mold lines. Prints aren't as vibrant or defined as other brands, but they're not too bad too. One bad thing about quality control though is Moloch's feet: there's a very visible grey mark on it..

View of the sides. Moloch's head has some prints, and while they might be okay, the grey for the front part isn't spread out as completely as we'd prefer.

View of the back.

Moloch's head is a head and not a helmet. Luke gets an alternate face.

Now for the interesting part: Moloch comes with the new leg molds for dress-like attires. This is of course, TLG's design. It's much better than the previous slope pieces because 1) these make the figs have the same height as regular legged figs and 2) they actually stay inside the minifig torso as opposed to the old 2x1 stud attachment (which is worse with bootleg brands because the clutch of bootleg brands aren't always as great as TLG's).

So far, only POGO has adopted this design. I'm hoping it becomes common soon.

Now for the Imperial Patrol Trooper. Not the best trooper out there, I'll tell you that. I think the Empire started to cheapen out on their army's armor supplier lol! Lots of issues with this one, sadly. First, the helmet mold is horribly printed. Additionally, it's not as smooth as other troopers. Next up, and hopefully and isolated case with mine, is that the leg prints are misaligned. Though what's more is that the torso print gets cut off in between the torso and the legs. There's a pretty visible gap in between.

Horrible helmet printing as you can see.

From the sides they kinda look okay!

Back view.

Generic face for the trooper which I welcome as opposed to the usual black head only.

The other 5 were reviewed here!

POGO still has a long way to go. I'm hoping they keep improving.

Got these three from AngeloMarcus Greenhills for some time now so it shouldn't be troublesome to get your hands on them!

  1. About the trooper : same issue with helmet black prints, the eye and the behind are horrible. Maybe it's your pic but the print of legs don't seem aligned (mine is ok)
