KORUIT XP036-XP041: First Wave of One Piece Minifigs Review

First previewed here!

XP036 - Borsalino
XP037 - Nami (Kimono)
XP038 - Nico Robin
XP039 - Crocodile
XP040 - Roronoa Zoro
XP041 - Monkey D. Luffy

It's a late review but I'm not changing any stances! These guys look and feel amazing!

Borsalino and Crocodile both come with these wide capes and that shoulder thing. I don't watch One Piece so I wouldn't know if they really have those, but I love KORUIT for providing these extra accessories!

Crocodile also currently has the best hook hand I've ever seen. POGO had one with an Aquaman fig before and it was so bad that I couldn't even attach the hook to the arm.
Other than that, the overall quality of the figs are great in both plastic and print.

Same great quality for the sides.

No alternate faces and it's pretty much the same as the others when it comes to secondary faces.

Now for Nami and Luffy. Luffy is amazing; I don't watch One Piece but I know him and I've loved the character design ever since. The hair + hat mold is really genius and I really admire KORUIT for it. Nami on the other hand also has great detail but is unfortunately still using the outdated skirt legs pieces; hopefully KORUIT uses the new molds soon!

Still, old mold or not, the overall outcome was still great. Side prints for Luffy especially were great, extending all around the legs.

View of the back. Was never a fan of the straight slope leg, the newer TLG skirt legs are much better but we can't really fault KORUIT for that anymore. They still made it work in the end anyway!

Luffy's hat is actually composed of two molds that are removable! The hair has a hole on the top middle where the yellow hat can attach! This is better than the usual painting of the hat that sometimes doesn't end up well with overlapping prints and other issues. An issue perhaps is that the attachment was too tight that I couldn't remove the hair from the hat after attaching them haha.

Now for Nico Robin and Zoro. Of course, Zoro can't put his third sword in his mouth, and we can't get mad at KORUIT for that of course! Haha

I love KORUIT quality and that extends to the accessories. The rifle is sturdy and feels great and the swords are the best katana swords I've seen.

They're also different from usual katanas which is evident in the hilt of KORUIT swords being round while the usual aren't.

I guess the skin doesn't fully match the plastic mold, but it's not too far in person and still looks good. Other than that, the details present are really amazing.

Great amount of detail on the sides too.

No alternate faces here. Great back details again.

Can't wait for the second wave! Hopefully they get released soon in AngeloMarcus Greenhills and online! I'll review them as well!

Great job, again, KORUIT. Hoping to see more from them!

  1. Nami's hair is also used in the Ninjago theme for Misako, Lloyd's (green ninja) mom.
