XINH X0272: Black Widow & Falcon and the Winter Soldier Minifigures Review

First previewed here.

XH1378 - Zemo
XH1379 - Black Widow
XH1380 - Black Widow
XH1381 - Falcon (Captain America)
XH1382 - Taskmaster
XH1383 - Black Widow
XH1384 - Red Guardian
XH1385 - Black Widow

Before anything, this set has a lot of similiarities with the KORUIT Black Widow set. Both sets have FOUR Black Widow minifigures. I got nothing against Black Widow, in fact I love her as a character, but 8 total Black Widow minifigures in a short amount of time is too much.

XINH gives the Black Widow minifigures their own new batons. These are new molds that work well with the Lego system since they're sized similarly with the typical Lego stick.

Only this Black Widow doesn't have the batons but instead two pistols. It makes sense since this is based on the Iron Man 2 or Avengers (2012) appearance of Black Widow; she didn't have the batons during those times yet.

Quality-wise, I got no problems. The prints are great, minus some inconsistent flesh skin shadings (printing on black makes for complicated printing). The new hair mold also looks off in some angles, but that's more of preference.

Great side prints for the arms. One of them even has side torso and leg prints.

The more interesting accessory for me are these baton packs at their backs. Having them and the batons themselves look weird, but since I find the baton pieces a bit too out of scale, having these backpacks are great alternatives.

Back prints still look good even though they're designed to have the packs!

Kudos to XINH for the new molds.

Time for these three. KORUIT's Taskmaster has more accessories.

Found it hard to see if this was centered or not. It looks better on certain angles; I think the star's sides' dimensions aren't equal. Not a problem though.

I think this Taskmaster looks better than Lego's, especially since we're getting more prints all over his body, up until the hood. Red Guardian and Zemo are also great! Lego doesn't even have a Red Guardian minifigure (not yet at least) and the Zemo we previously got looks like he's just a civilian. (This Zemo is based on a teaser we got for the upcoming Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series)

Side prints are there for the arms, something Lego doesn't do often.

I love the Zemo minifigure until I saw the back. He's not Hydra! He even hates Hydra. (This is MCU Zemo.) I guess you could argue though that this Zemo minifigure isn't based on his MCU counterpart though, but c'mon everyone else is MCU.

This is interesting. I guess XINH didn't have reference for the Taskmaster designs since they reused the back torso design of Falcon for him. Though if you think about, it's possible that Taskmaster has Falcon's wings too since his abilities are about copying others' abilities.

No alternate head prints for these two. Makes sense for Taskmaster since he sometimes puts his hood down in the trailers. For Red Guardian, it could've been made. I'm not complaining though since I prefer him with the mask anyway.

I can't wait to see what Sam Wilson will look like as Captain America, and I hope he doesn't look like this. I'd love a more distinct look.

General quality for this figure is good, but the torso had some quality control issues. It's smudged or scratched, I can't even tell what kind of damage this is.

Not a lot of changes for the wing pack.

Just another shot of the backpacks. It would be great to see Taskmaster with Falcon's wings.

Review summary:

General print and plastic quality still ranges from decent to good. Still better than most POGO releases. Some face prints look weird though, like Red Guardian's here. Quality control is also poor for this one as seen with my poorly printed Falcon Captain America. No complaints on plastic quality though.

For design choice, I'm literally 50/50. I love the Black Widow designs but 4 at a time is a bit too much. We've also seen fanmade Captain America Falcon minifigures from XINH in the past. The others are good variants to have though.

AngeloMarcus Greenhills already has these and their store in Greenhills is already open. If you still can't decide between these and KORUIT's, you can check them out in person there. Just observe proper physical distancing!
