Duo Le Pin DLP515: Vulture Minifig with Wings (Different from Lepin) Review

Sorry it's late!

Comes in that small box. 

He only has two bags and one sheet of instructions (back to back).

DLP - XINH - Lepin - Lele

From this point onwards, DLP is on the left and Lepin is on the right.

For the minifigs though, I'll only set the DLP one side by side with XINH because it's the best one (versus Lepin and Lele). Although for me now, DLP is the way to go for a Vulture minifig.

What you see is what you get + DLP quality is pretty good! (XINH's quality is also good, but the printing of DLP is preferred by me)

So yeah, XINH's helmet print seems off or a bit too stretched. Not as bad as Lele's though for sure, but DLP wins this for me.

Oh and DLP's skin tone seems more natural versus XINH's. Some XINH figs, especially older ones, are known for having slightly weirder skin tones anyway.

Also, that thing DLP Vulture is holding is his weapon according to the box art.

Now for the wings. Left is DLP and right is Lepin. 

First notable differences: blue studs vs purple studs. Of course, purple is more accurate, so points go to Lepin for this one.

Now if you zoom in the picture, you'll see that DLP's wing body is printed on while Lepin's is a sticker. Also, DLP's is just one piece while Lepin's is two. From this point of view though, there's still not a lot of difference.

And here you have it. See the difference in thickness? Some people might think they prefer thinner wings, but I'll show you in a while why I prefer Lepin's.

Ehhhh.

Here's the biggest problem for DLP. There's barely any articulation for the wings and the circle parts on the wings. For DLP, that's basically how it is already, while Lepin's wings and circle things can move with much more freedom. I hope you guys see the difference through the pictures.

Other than the differences I mentioned, DLP and Lepin differ in some shades; DLP seems to have darker shades of grey than Lepin (add to the difference in stud colors).

Also, I noticed that DLP's wing body parts are starting to have issues. These pieces don't grip with the wings anymore and have become loose/widened. Maybe because of the bad design?

TL;DR - If you already have the Lepin one, then there's really not much reason to buy this DLP515 anymore unless you want a better Vulture minifig. The articulation really breaks it for me on this DLP set. 

You could also modify the DLP wings instead if you have the time and extra pieces for it so that it will resemble more the Lepin/official TLG Vulture wings.
