POGO PG1809, PG1811-PG1813: Carnage, Venompool, King Groot, and Wolverine Symbiote Bigfigs Review

First previewed here!

PG1809 - Carnage
PG1811 - Wolverine (Venom/Poison)
PG1812 - Venompool
PG1813 - King Groot

Let's start off with the packaging. They're somewhat similar to the previous wave's packaging. The previous packs had transparent circles on the center which allowed you to see what was inside the bag; for this new one, there's no hole. The back part of the bag does have images of the whole set and the sellers/POGO will mark the ones in the bag. As you can see on the right bag, they marked with a permanent marker Wolverine as the contents of the bag. Let's hope your respective sellers/suppliers/POGO themselves don't mess up and forget what's inside the bag and hence mark them wrong.

These two have a metallic coating on them and I like how they look. The prints are also good, even though they're really simple. My Venompool had some smudges on the teeth though, I'm hoping that's an isolated issue. Although I'm sure it'll be different with your figs, there are a number of scratches that I bet will also appear in other figs.

Also, in case you're wondering why there are spider logos molded onto the fig, that's because POGO simply reused their Anti-Venom mold from the previous wave.

View of the sides.

Would've preferred a smoother mold, but POGO really just reused their old molds. Good prints though at least.

Two pictures to better show their colors. Wolverine seems to be the worst because the plastic seems even cheaper with the way the yellow is. It's not metallic unlike the first two, and the yellow just looks so weirdly bright. Additionally, you've got lots of scratches that are much more visible on Wolverine.

If you're wondering if King Groot's branches/moustache can be attached differently, they can't. Those holes on his head are angled in a way that you can only fit them one possible way.

Side view. Loving Wolverine's claws though!

Back view. Same deal here.
Wolverine also uses the same mold as the Venom Wolverine from the previous wave.

If you're really looking into truly completing and truly increasing your collection, I think these guys are still worth getting. I know quality could've been better, but POGO's been so into quantity over quality.. I hope they start to improve their quality too..

Hoping the other four get released in AngeloMarcus Greenhills too. I think the designs absolutely look great, and I'm still hoping, but not expecting, the others to be of better quality. I'm sure they'll still be worth getting for the more completionist collectors.

  1. From this series I took only the Space Knight Venom. I didn't like the others! =(
