XINH X0250: Starforce and Other Captain Marvel (2019) Minifigs Review with Skrulls Minifigs Comparison

Posted a preview of them here.

Before anything, if you look at the film more closely, you'll see that their costumes are different from one another in some ways. The general look is the same of course, but there really are some difference. XINH does get Minerva/Minn-Erva's torso right. Are there any complaints from me? Not really. I mean, even TLG just released the same torsos for their Quantum Realm minifigs.

Accessories. Minerva is using a normal usual-XINH rifle instead of something alien.

No swordpack for Korath.

These guys could be anyone..

On the left is XINH's first Skrull minifig. Which do you prefer?  Also, XINH's Skrull is using a different hair mold compared to TLG's. Do you prefer this or the official?

MOC idea:

Generic Kree soldier, good or nah? I'd prefer the classic comics variants though.
(Helmet used is the same helmet as some of the LOTR Rohan minifigs, but this one specifically is from XINH's Ocean Master from Aquaman 2018.

XINH X0250 Grading:

Plastic Quality: 5/5
I had no issues with these. The plastic felt great and looked great. You might have some minor issues though at times, and maybe even horrible issues sometimes, but for the most part XINH plastic quality is really great. Sometimes though we still might end up with poor quality figs because XINH is still a knockoff brand first and foremost.

Print Quality: 5/5
The prints are great as expected too! No issues over here.

Design Choice: 3/5
I know everyone wants the Starforce as minifigs, and that includes me, but there's not a lot of distinction between the male Starforce members. The others though are clones of TLG's official minifigs; Nick Fury and Coulson are boring and XINH's Skrull is using a different hair mold for their Skrull [that at least some others prefer over TLG's]. I was also gonna deduct some points on print quality because of the lack of side prints, but I think that's more of a design thing. Such a shame considering Kopf and WM have been previewing side printed minifigs.

Build Quality: 4.5/5
Articulation and the build experience are smooth with these guys. Definitely no issues, but the accessories included are below average. Minerva got a gun that looks like it's from Earth, the other Starforce members don't get weapons and just get blast pieces, and Korath didn't even have a sword pack. These are easily fixable issues though by having extra parts at home, but not everyone has those so yeah..

Would I recommend these? Yeah if you're a huge MCU fan. If not, then maybe the Starforce figs are the ones worth getting and the others can be skipped. Don't worry about quality because these are pretty good, but design-wise it's up to your preference.

For those in the Philippines though, AngeloMarcus Greenhills has had these in stock for a couple of days now. I'm still deciding which Skrull to army build, this one or the old one, so that when I go back to AngeloMarcus, I can buy a couple of them!

  1. I honestly thought this was the poorest quality Xinh set i have seen in a long time. My coulsons torso was printed way off center (that's without discussing how plain yet thick and ugly the print is). Nick Fury's face looks like he's gone crazy. Minn-Erva again had crooked torso print, Von-Rogg's face was painted way too low and had loose hair and Att-Lass's face is way too thickly printed. Such a shame because I was really looking forward to this set. Oh, and the Skrull just looks dumb. Lol. I honestly really appreciated the minute details on their suits though. They could have just put different heads on the same bodies and some people would be none the wiser.
